Laredo’s housing options are comprised of mostly single-family homes, some mobile homes, some small apartment buildings, some complexes/high rise apartments, as well as a few row houses and attached homes. Most were built between 1960 and 1984. There are some well established older homes built between 1940 and 1959. Additionally, there are some newer homes built after 1985, and a few historic homes built prior to 1939.

According to the Home Price Comparison Index (HPCI), Laredo's average home sales price in 2005 was $222,500. Thus, making it one of the nation's affordable housing markets. Prices for single-family homes ranged from an average $183,800 in the areas north of the Del Mar Blvd. to Loop 20, $80,099 in areas south of Southgate and $203,370 in the areas that include Regency Park, JSJ, Alexander, Lakeside and Del Mar C. In the Mines Road area, sales prices averaged $115,144.
